A favorite childhood saying is now the best slogan ever for our roastery. After a trip to explore a coffee bean farm in Chiapas, Mexico with our friends from Broken Rib Coffee, the java juices started flowing…We’re in! We spent the whole flight home dreaming up how we can best support the farmers we met and build a partnership with BRC. A palette of green beans later, Midwood Coffee Roasters was born.
Sean started home roasting in 2014 using an air popper for popcorn. In 2017 we moved to Plaza Midwood (hence the name) in Charlotte, NC, where he got a gig with a local coffee house to roast on a Probat L12 roaster and hone in his skills as a sensory roaster. Let’s just say our house had the best coffee in the neighborhood! Now it’s time for all of you to experience Sean’s rad roasting skills.
