Cool-brew Methods
Coffee brewing methods is an interesting and popular topic. On a post in facebook, I asked for people to share which method they use to make their morning joe. Overwhelmingly, people brewed by drip. Surprised me as we are often asked by the pod-culture club if our coffee is available for Kuerig.
In this blog post, I will be discussing the different methods of brewing coffee and how to choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences.
Manual coffee makers are becoming increasingly popular because they allow you to use your own ground beans and adjust the grind size, temperature, water level, and other variables to get the perfect cup of coffee. This includes pour-over, French press, and Aeropress.
The pour-over method is the easiest and most effective way to make a great cup of coffee. It involves pouring hot water over medium-coarsely ground beans in a filter placed on top of a mug or carafe. This method allows for complete control over the strength and flavor of the coffee by adjusting the amount of coffee and water used.
Next is the French press method, which is essentially for those who prefer a bolder coffee with more body. A French press uses coarsely ground beans, placed inside a container, then hot water is poured over the beans before being pushed down with a plunger to extract all the flavor.
The Aeropress is a relatively new brewing method that has gained popularity in the coffee industry. It works by using pressure to push hot water through coffee grounds in a sealed chamber. The Aeropress is easy to use and produces a smooth, balanced cup of coffee. #Funfact- Aeropress enthusiasts created a competitive culture with the World Aeropress Championships
Finally, there are many other methods of coffee brewing, such as cold brew, espresso, and stovetop. Each of these methods has its own benefits and drawbacks, so it is best to experiment with each method to find out which one is right for you.
No matter which method of brewing you choose, it is important to use fresh, quality coffee beans (We recommend ours…duh), the correct grind size and the right water temperature. Experimenting with different brewing methods and finding the perfect cup of coffee is a fun and rewarding-experience. Once you find your grind and jam, share it with us…we love hearing from the cool kids!
